FOR WOMEN ONLY, Inc “Passport to Life” is a Housing and Education Project to inspire and support former foster and probation youth ages 18-22 to pursue their academic goals.

The ability to make a living wage without some form of postsecondary education is rapidly diminishing. At the same time, the stakes for academic success have never been greater-  income and education are closely linked than ever before.

“Passport to Life” will be the first female-ONLY facility in South Los Angeles, Service Planning Area 6 (SPA6) to accommodate young women who age out, run away, or emancipate from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) or the Los Angeles County Probation Department seeking a higher education.

FOR WOMEN ONLY, Inc began in 1995 to provide job preparedness training and placement assistance for harder-to-place women with recovery in alcohol, substance abuses or survivors of domestic violence.

From 1995 to 2010, we have directly and indirectly affected the lives of more than 700 women (and men) with a  4-phase program that helped clients with business English, math, writing, critical thinking skills, computer and work related skills, development skills, and the use of technology for today’s challenges. In the final year of providing support to this segment of the homeless population, ten of the 27 (or 37%) adults who attended the program at least once found suitable, affordable housing.
